Test 1
At the end of your website URL add the following:
wp-config.php
www.yoursite.com/wp-config.php

Test Results:
Passed: You see a page that says one of the following: Not Found 404 or Something Went Wrong!
Failed: YOu see a blank (usually white) page.

Test 2
At the end of your website URL add the following:
/wp-admin/
www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/

Test Results:
Passed: You see a page that says one of the following: Not Found 404 / Something Went Wrong / Page Can’t be accessed!
Failed: You see the login page.

Test 3
At the end of your website URL add the following:
www.yoursite.com/readme.html

Test Results:
Passed:You see a page that says one of the following: Not Found 404 / Something Went Wrong
Failed: You can see a page that tells you what version of wordpress you are using.

Test 4
At the end of your website URL add the following:
/wp-admin/install.php
www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/install.php

Test Results:
Passed:You see a page that says one of the following: Not Found 404 / Something Went Wrong / Page Can’t be accessed!
Failed: You see a page that says: Already Installed …

All of the above failed test provide an easy way into your database, clients lists, emails, passwords, installation files. The harm one my do having access to this pages is hugely overlooked by most web-designers.
